Violinist Clara Hongju Jeon
따뜻한 음색과 깊이 있는 해석으로 주목받고 있는 차세대 바이올리니스트 전클라라홍주는 대전예술고등학교 수석 입학 및 졸업, 경희대학교 음악대학 졸업 후 도미하여 Manhattan School of Music에서 우수한 성적으로 장학금을 받으며 석사과정을 졸업하였다.
일찍이 대전예술의전당 영재아카데미를 수료하였고, 대전예술의전당 페스티벌 오케스트라에 참여하였을 뿐만 아니라 영산양재홀 영 아티스트로 발탁되어 리사이틀을 가지며 솔리스트로서의 두각을 나타냈다. 실내악에도 큰 애정을 갖고 있는 그녀는 음악저널 실내악 콩쿠르에서 입상하였고, 맨하탄 음악대학 재학 시절 The Lillian Fuchs Chamber Competition에서 현악 4중주로 2년 연속 입상하는 쾌거를 이루며 음악적 깊이를 한층 더해 나갔다.
솔리스트로서의 활동은 물론 맨하탄 음대 100주년 기념 뉴욕 카네기홀 연주에 참여하여 세계 정상급 연주자들과 소통하며 오케스트라 연주자로서도 폭넓은 레퍼토리를 선보였으며, 서울시립교향악단, 인천시립교향악단, KBS교향악단 등 국내 유수의 오케스트라에서 객원 단원으로 활동했다.
한경arte필하모닉오케스트라 단원을 역임하였고, 더불어 솔라시안 유스 오케스트라 패컬티, 아시아 필하모닉 오케스트라, 평창대관령음악제 오케스트라, 통영페스티벌오케스트라, 사라장 & 비르투오지 전국투어, 서울국제음악제, 대전국제음악제, 필하모니코리아, SAC페스티벌오케스트라에 초청받아 연주하였다.
전클라라홍주는 제33회 한밭신인음악회 ‘올해의 젊은 음악가’로 선정되었고, 클래시칸 앙상블, Ensemble KHAI 앙상블 카이, Trio Dear 트리오 디어 멤버로 활동하며 중앙대학교에서 후학양성에 힘쓰고 있다.
Clara Hongju Jeon is a rising Korean violinist renowned for her radiant tone and compelling artistry, quickly establishing herself on both national and international stages. She entered Daejeon Arts High School at the top of her class and graduated as valedictorian, went on to earn her Bachelor of Music from Kyung- Hee University, and completed her Master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music on a full merit scholarship.
Early in her career, she completed the Young Artist Academy at the Daejeon Arts Center and performed with its Festival Orchestra. She was later selected as a Young Artist at Yeongsan Art Hall, where she gave her solo recital debut. With a deep passion for chamber music, she won awards at the Music Journal Chamber Competition and achieved consecutive prizes in the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Competition as part of a string quartet during her studies in New York.
In addition to her solo career, Ms. Jeon performed in the Manhattan School of Music Centennial Concert at Carnegie Hall, collaborating with world-class artists. As an orchestral violinist, she has worked with leading Korean ensembles including the Seoul Philharmonic, Incheon Philharmonic, and KBS Symphony Orchestra.
She previously served as a member of the Hankyung Arte Philharmonic Orchestra and has been invited to perform with the Solasian Youth Orchestra Faculty, Asia Philharmonic Orchestra, PyeongChang Music Festival Orchestra, Tongyeong Festival Orchestra, the nationwide Sarah Chang & Virtuosi tour, the Seoul International Music Festival, Daejeon International Music Festival, Philharmonie Korea, and the SAC Festival Orchestra.
Ms. Jeon was named “Young Musician of the Year” at the 33rd Hanbat Rising Stars Concert. She currently performs with Classican Ensemble, Ensemble KHAI, and Trio Dear, and is on the faculty at Chung-Ang University, where she dedicates herself to mentoring the next generation of violinists.
